Consistent Ecosystem While the future of UC&C is exciting, one of the gremlins that has tagged along the transformation journey is the different portals and software that come with each device. This could be a barrier to entry for some users, as adding one more system on top of collaboration management brings into question whether it is worth it. But as the software layer in the AV market has grown thicker, a change of mindset has occurred within the Vivitek business, focussing on the ecosystem rather than just flogging panels. “In 2019 we started to use the term ecosystem because, although we are coming from a projector or panel perspective, we also integrated wireless communication and digital signage into these products, so the reseller or the distributor is not only buying a display from us. “Our message to those businesses was: We offer you an ecosystem of products that communicate with each other but can also communicate with users too, to the benefit of the company. “Just imagine you are entering a company and you have a reception desk, that reception desk should have a welcome screen. Then you go to a meeting room where you have a touch or non-touch panel, that you use to communicate with in a meeting.” This is all done through the Novo solution Vivitek has, as the Head of EMEA explains:
Waking the Giant That unknown, or sleeping giant quality seems something that Vivitek is embracing as the enterprise world realises how much they need suitable AV solutions. According to Graeff, he has seen Delta Electronics’ operating revenues grow from “$7 billion to $13 billion” which have come from extensive R&D and pushing boundaries. Such innovation resulted in Vivitek being the “first brand to introduce collaborative touch panels” in 2016. “I’m thrilled to see how we have developed as a brand and how the industry developed with us in the last couple of years,” he said. “Of course, we experienced a major blow in 2020 because of the pandemic, which was shaky, but 2021 was a lot better than I thought so we went through a lot of ups and downs like everyone else. “It’s not only about the products, it’s also about the proposition to our channel, the factors that influence our business, whether it be a shortage of components or the skyrocketing logistics costs that we need to deal with, which are not so easy to deal with, to be honest. “But when we are talking about UC&C, demand has accelerated so dramatically and now people are talking about the beginning of a new S curve. We are witnessing that trend and being part of that development is challenging and demanding but it is also exciting.”
