And I go Back to Black … Friday This year “Black Friday” falls on Friday 29 November 2024. A phrase originally coined in the United States, the sales trends are not new – from time immemorial a large majority of people celebrating Christmas would use a portion of their wages on Christmas gifts at the end of November. What is more noticeable however, is the marketing, the price differentials before and after the day, that the day is now almost a month, and shoppers are holding back purchasing big ticket items until Black Friday deals are known.

In the IT industry, surges are predicted in the sales of TVs, laptops, smartphones, headphones, smartwatches, gaming consoles, Apple devices, robot vacuums, video doorbells and cameras. According to Mintel UK Black Friday Market Report 2024, total sales during Black Friday 2023 reached an estimated £13.3 billion, up 7.3% year-on-year. Experts are predicting similar growth in 2024,

citing reasons such as underlying inflation and the continued cost-of-living crisis driving consumers to seek promotion-led items. Using user searches and hot products as determined by implied sales value, the Stock in the Channel analysts have curated a list of the top products to nab this Black Friday, as they are performing well within their categories.
