Meeting the Criteria As we enter into the fourth year of mass hybrid working, how do our devices help us do our jobs?

There’s nothing more frustrating than technology not working the only thing worse is when it’s not working on a call! But while people continue to adjust to making sure they’re not on mute when they speak, how can the devices we use help us out? And how sustainable is this market for meeting room devices? To find out, UC Advanced spoke to two of the more innovative solution providers on the market, Frank Weishaupt, CEO at Owl Labs, and Ryan Reeves, Logitech’s Video Collaboration Specialist for Europe, to get a taste of the current market.

Ryan Reeves, Video Collaboration Specialist for Europe, Logitech: “I think you have to be in the room to sustain the growth first and foremost, but I think for us rather than just focusing on the room, it’s more about the growth and the appetite for hybrid working. “There were a large number of companies before the pandemic who were doing this and they were the ones who were most successful during the pandemic and were able to implement these new hybrid working practices the quickest or expand on what they’re already doing.

How sustainable is the demand for meeting room solutions?

“Now that we’re out the other side of it, I think the genie’s out the bottle. Companies can see the benefit, workers are perhaps choosing their next job on the back of hybrid working, and the meeting room is a key component in being able to be successful. “Let’s face it, the room is one attendee in an online meeting, so you have to be able to facilitate the people in the right way in order to have a good experience, otherwise the house of cards starts to fall down. For Logitech, the bar needs to be in that room and then we can branch out and we can make that room fit for purpose with a host of other products that we’re able to plug into and enhance the room experience with.”

Frank Weishaupt, CEO, Owl Labs: “Despite a rise in the return to office mandates and

increased scrutiny on in-office badge swipes from execs,

recent data from Owl Labs’ annual UK State of Hybrid Work report reveals that over half (54%) of UK workers say hybrid is their preferred working structure. “As employees continue to demand flexibility over their working day, collaborative technology solutions will remain crucial in the long run to maintaining an immersive hybrid work environment. “The fact that nearly a third (27%) of UK employees want their workplaces to adopt better video conferencing technologies in the next two years suggests that companies need to go further to ensure they have the right meeting room solutions that deliver every time, regardless of an attendee’s location.” owllabs.com
